These small oil paintings on satimat paper are a departure from my previous studies of the human form, and combine studies from life, cartoon sketches and automatic drawing. I view each element as a subject with it’s own voice and meaning, together they interlock in an expanding dialogue. What began as a playful experiment with texture, form, colour and gesture, has evolved into a visual language of it’s own and a doorway to a new body of work.
